this is what I’d like to say
To the mother I love so dear
may God fill your day full of cheer
Mother I love you beyond compare
for all of the time with me that you’ve shared
For all the nights you laid awake
and the chastisement you made me take
Mother I love you more than I could ever express
for I know that you have done your very best
To teach me the things that you knew were right
and to keep me in God’s perfect sight
Although I love you the whole year through
I celebrate this day just for you
To express my love in this special way
