I Can't But Jesus Can

A tower to lean on I am not
I’m just a man or have you forgot
Miracle worker, no that’s not me!
I’m just a mortal! Don’t you see?
Financial Tycoon! Oh! What a great aspiration!
When I said I was broke, that was no exaggeration!
International recognition and worldly fame
That’s not how I roll, that’s not my game
Awards, certificates and plaques, not on my wall
A heart full of pride precedes the fall
So what was it you said you were expecting from me?
Perfection! Protection! Possessions, and Originaaaaality
It’s not that I don’t want too, don’t get me wrong
I don’t want to be weak when I know you need me strong
I don’t want to disappoint you not another time
But, honey what you want is called, Divine!
What you are wishing for can’t be found in a man
You need the Lord Jesus for only He can
Be your strong tower for you to lean on
Work every miracle before your prayers are done
Shower you with riches with more to come
Wait just a moment, bear with me please
I’m not a fraud, I’m not a tease
I say my prayer down on my knees
Open her heart Lord that she may see
Loving Jesus Christ is the key
Honey! I can’t but Jesus can!

To All My Children

To all my children,

It is so wonderful that you take time to recognize my sons. It is thoughtful of you to show them special appreciation on this day you have called “Fathers Day”. I really don’t mind the gesture at all but let me remind you that everyday is “FATHER’s DAY”. Who took nothing and called it into something, then took that something and formed a body, breathed my breath into that body and called him man? Who by breathing provides the life wind for all living things? Who shaped you, placed you, and wakes you everyday, never forgetting once, never to busy with other worlds matters to provide you that personal attention? Who walks with you, provides protecting angels for you, and carries you when you don’t even know that your legs have given out under you? Who loves you, has faith in you, believes in you when you have given up on yourself? Who will listen to your thoughts, your troubles, and your feelings no matter what time it is? Who can you trust with your inner-most feelings without worry of them getting out to the entire world? Who showers you with the rain, wraps you up in the sunshine, and paints a beautiful rainbow for your pleasure? Who can you call after you have called everybody else, which will treat you as though your first call was to Him? Who can say yes when the doctors have said no, who can say no when the doctor’s say you have? Who knows all your hang-up, ugly little secrets, all your flaws, all your fears and loves you as though you were perfect? Who no matter what your color, what your frame, what’s in your brain, big bone, red bone, little bone, no bone, thick, thin, heavy or frail, short, tall or vertically challenged is proud to declare to the worlds that you are made in His image? Who serenades you with the thunder, entertains you with a lighting light show? Who disciplines you in such a way that you always benefit? Who rewards you for your obedience with a blank check that will never come back, NSF? Who loves you so much that He gave His first born to die that you might live? Who, although a thousand of your years is but a day to Him, is available anytime you call? Come on my child, tell me who!

Go ahead my child, honor those who honor is do, but when you are through, remember that it’s your Heavenly Father’s Day to. Oh, “I’m Who” each and everyday I love you and I cherish you. I have but one more question my children, who took time today, yesterday, and forevermore to say to me through the actions of their heart, HAPPY FATHERS DAY, Heavenly Father, “Happy Fathers Day?

I’m Not That Man

I’m not the one that treated you bad
I’m not the one that made you sad
I’m not the one that hit it and ran
I’m not the one that won’t be a man

I’m not the one that leaves prints on your face
I’m not the one with a foot in your space
I’m not the one that told you lies
I’m not the one your child, deny

I’m not the one a job won’t keep
I’m not the one that the Po-Po seek
I’m not the one that can never be found
I’m not the one with girls all over town

I’m not the one your heart did steal
I’m not the one searching for another cheap thrill
I’m not the one thats always high
I’m not the one baby clothes won’t buy

I’m not the one education won’t seek
I’m not the one true words won’t speak
I’m not the one another man did meet
I’m not the one that put you on the street

I’m not the one that took your dreams away
I’m not the one that denies my DNA
I’m not the one sitting behind bars
I’m not the one responsible for your emotional scars

I’m not the one that should ever hear you say
You ain’t never been a man anyway!
I’m not the one that you accuse me to be
I’ve never been that man, why can’t you see
Stop living in the past of yesterday
Encourage me dear with something good to say
I'm not that man!

If I Could Talk To My Father Again

Daddy please explain to me why
When I was young you had to die
I’ve tried to be strong and hold back the tears
Control my emotions and face my fears

Yet there is this void that can not be filled
there is a truth not yet revealed
How much I pray you could hear me say
If I could talk to my father again

Daddy don’t leave me, Daddy I need you, Daddy come home, I’m so all alone
Daddy I love you, Daddy I need you, Daddy please set me free,
If I could talk to my father again

Mamma keeps telling me that you aren’t dead
yet you no longer say prayers before I go to bed
Mamma, Mamma you don’t understand
I need my daddy to become a man

Guide me and mold me, tell me I can
discipline with love, draw the line in the sand
How much I pray you could hear me say
If I could talk to my father again

Daddy don’t leave me, Daddy I need you, Daddy come home, I’m so all alone
Daddy I love you, Daddy I need you, Daddy please set me free,
If I could talk to my father again

Year after year and tear after tear
time has moved on and your grandchildren are here
Question after question I ask in my heart
Daddy why this, Daddy why that, where do I start

Daddy please explain please tell me why
When I was young you had to die
Mamma keeps telling me that you aren’t dead
Yet that is what you are inside my head

Daddy don’t leave me, Daddy I need you, Daddy come home, I’m so all alone
Daddy I love you, Daddy I need you, Daddy please set me free,
If I could talk to my father again

Now that you are gone I can hear you say
Daddy, when I was born, why did you have to die
Why did you disown us and make Mamma cry
She keeps telling me that you aren’t dead
Just loving another family and wife instead

Daddy don’t leave me, Daddy I need you, Daddy come home, I’m so all alone
Daddy I love you, Daddy I need you, Daddy please set me free,
If I could talk to my father again

Father in heaven, please help me I pray
to never live my life in such a way
that my son will ever have to say

Daddy don’t leave me, Daddy I need you, Daddy come home, I’m so all alone
Daddy I love you, Daddy I need you, Daddy please set me free,
If I could only talk to my father again

Healthcare from the Feet Perspective

If one is barefoot and the feet are getting tore up by the rocks, glass, sand,

dirt, cold, heat, rain, snow, etc…

If one has never had shoes and thus does not know how to tie shoe-laces.

Should one reject shoes, because they come with laces?

Laces that one does not know how to tie,

Laces that could cause one to trip and bust one’s head,

Laces that must be replaced,

Laces that present a challenge,

Laces that could be tied together by an enemy,

Laces that the dog could eat, etc…

Or should one except the shoes that one’s feet have never felt,

The shoes that will protect,

The shoes that will shield,

The shoes that encourage feet that dread to walk,

to step, one step at a time on ground traveled before,

one step at a time on ground never traveled!

Is it a matter of cognitive desistance?

Or is it a simple realization that continuing down the same path the same way, shoeless, will

continue to be a challenge yielding the same results;

on the other foot,

wearing shoes, old shoes! new shoes! on virgin feet,

tying laces that have never been tied,

buying socks that develop holes, powders, sprays, and odor-eaters,

shoes to small,

shoes to narrow,

shoes too hard, is better than no shoes at all.

Healthcare, from the feet perspective.

Job and I

Job fought with the devil but he didn’t know why
The experience was so traumatic that Job wanted to die
I’m fighting with the devil and I look him in the face
The experience is traumatic but I know I’m safe

Job lost his children and his way of life
His joy was replaced with misery and strife
My son is living yet his soul is lost
My joy is ever challenged yet I must maintain it at any cost

Job’s body was afflicted and consumed with pain
His wife was accused of being insane
I fought cancer and the agony it brought
My wife has abandoned me is what I thought

Job’s friends were cruel in what they had to say
It must have been sin that put Job where he lay
Not a many friend to my bed side came
Did they to, on me blame?

Job in the end realized his mistake
After he heard the situation from the Lord’s take
I searched within for some sin I had done
This is not about you but the Holy! One (God Speaking)

Job was restored when God said so
God made the devil leave, take flight and go
I have been healed by the miracle of the Lord
Jesus, the Bible and I on one accord

IN THE END

Life is intriguing to the eye
and for it’s pleasure
a man will die

Forgetting the way
in which he should go
falling prey to all life’s foes

Knowing the price
that he must pay
for in the bottomless pit he will lay

But he will continue
to live in his sin
refusing to let Jesus come in

So he lives his life
with a joyous smile
but it will only last for a little while

For in the end
he will hear Life say
It’s in hell that you must stay

END

Endings are things
we hate to see come
They discontinue everything
and they spoil good fun

They ruin a relationship
without regard for time
And then new friends
one must find

They cut off ones happiness
and there’s no need for that
They put a halt to living
and that’s a fact

But if that disgusting word
one could throw away
There would be an end to endings
yes this very day

Regretfully
The End

YOU SET ME FREE

There was a time that I was troubled and bound
then along came my baby and true love I found
I had no purpose and no peace in my life
then she gave my life meaning and filled with spice

I was in a world so full, yet I felt alone
but she kept me company and brightened up my home
I sang the blues from day to night
But now I sing of joy’s delight

I had no future, not even a dream
then she showed me that thing weren’t as bad as they seemed
I hung my head low with tears in my heart
then she lifted my head up and gave me a new start

I looked forward for nothing, I was dead in my mind
but she gave me a future through her love and being kind
I hated my life and the world that I was in
then she taught me how to love and be a man again

I was a lonely man that was always sad
But she conquered my loneliness and made me glad
I was a blind man and life I could not see
then she soon opened my eyes to reality

I was bound and a slave to myself
My life was all twisted up and I needed help
then along came the best thing that ever happened to me
it was you Baby, You set me free
