Celebrate Justice
Before the presumed bells
of justice were able to ring
“Oh, Lord, not my child”
another mother would sing
The spirit of racism took
to the sky
Yet another melanized baby
would die
Don’t you dare, justice
celebrate
Systematic genocide is yet
your fate
Guilty, Guilty, Guilty, the
jury proclaimed
Not before another privileged,
took his aim
Celebrate justice, don’t
you dare
Political gun powder fills
the air
Documented case they are aware
Whatever the verdict, they
don’t care
Shooting us down at their
will
Asking the question, how
many can we kill
Protected by the uniform
and the silver shield
The reality of Franklin
Roosevelt’s “New Deal”
