The Power Of Hope
Hebrews 11:1 (CEV)
Faith makes us sure of what we hope for and gives us proof of what we cannot see.
Faith makes us sure of what we hope for and gives us proof of what we cannot see.
Have
you ever considered the meaning of the word hope? Did you realize that what or
who you find your hope in may not be what or who someone else may find their
hope in? Did you know that it is only natural for us to offer a person in need
that seems to have given up hope, our hope? We don’t often think to ask the
person what got them to the present? What did they believe in or hold on to?
What is different in their current situation? What is not working for them that
worked in the past? Perhaps if we allow them to work through their hope, they
will reconnect or be willing to try our hope.
Don’t
under estimate the power of hope. From holding a marriage together to bringing
a person back from the hands of death, hope gives us something or someone to
hold on to. Hope as an equation is Help over Problem Eventually. This mental
and or spiritual equation allows us to see help over the problem no matter how
big or deep the problem, eventually. It is the H/E part, Help Eventually that
gives us the motivation we need to hold on. For the Christian, the H/E or He of
our hope is Jesus the Christ. For non-Christians the H/E may be a person, a
god, an object, or something else, the important thing is that there is a H/E.
Just because your hope is built on Jesus Christ and His righteousness, don’t
under estimate someone’s hope that is different than yours for them. Go ahead,
in the words of Jessie Jackson, “Keep Hope Alive” it may save a life. ~Moffett~
