The Power Of Hope

The Power Of Hope

Hebrews 11:1 (CEV)
Faith makes us sure of what we hope for and gives us proof of what we cannot see.

Have you ever considered the meaning of the word hope? Did you realize that what or who you find your hope in may not be what or who someone else may find their hope in? Did you know that it is only natural for us to offer a person in need that seems to have given up hope, our hope? We don’t often think to ask the person what got them to the present? What did they believe in or hold on to? What is different in their current situation? What is not working for them that worked in the past? Perhaps if we allow them to work through their hope, they will reconnect or be willing to try our hope.
Don’t under estimate the power of hope. From holding a marriage together to bringing a person back from the hands of death, hope gives us something or someone to hold on to. Hope as an equation is Help over Problem Eventually. This mental and or spiritual equation allows us to see help over the problem no matter how big or deep the problem, eventually. It is the H/E part, Help Eventually that gives us the motivation we need to hold on. For the Christian, the H/E or He of our hope is Jesus the Christ. For non-Christians the H/E may be a person, a god, an object, or something else, the important thing is that there is a H/E. Just because your hope is built on Jesus Christ and His righteousness, don’t under estimate someone’s hope that is different than yours for them. Go ahead, in the words of Jessie Jackson, “Keep Hope Alive” it may save a life. ~Moffett~

You Can’t Work Your Way Into Heaven

You Can’t Work Your Way Into Heaven
According to Jesus teaching found in Luke 13:25-27, many people will attempt to work their way into heaven. The issue is that Jesus has already completed the work, we have to complete the worship. There is a major difference between work and worship; we work for a reward, where worship is the reward, and worship requires spiritual work that is manifested in the flesh. Worship that transcends and transitions the earth realm to the spiritual realm.

Saratoga

 Saratoga

Hibernation denied, courage applied
Destination confirmed, travel from home
Cancelation in dreams, anxiety bells ring
Expectations delayed, emotions parade
Declarations proclaimed, practice for the ring of fame
Participation panic, eradicate frantic
Equalization established, experience embellished
Collaboration of bond, observe the prey respond
Persuasion inquisition, silent recognition
Hesitation in exit, program indebted
Actualization ignited, PTSD indicted

Woman, Not Today!

Woman, Not Today!
To the widow just trying to make it; I get it life dealt you a hand you have to play out. To the wife whose husband serves our country in one way or another, leaving you to tend to the children; I get it. To the mother whose man is incarcerated as a result of a corrupt justice system; I get it. To the woman that was raped and left with a living reminder of a day she wishes she could forget; I get it. Each of you has no choice but to make up for the void of an absent father. You feel entitled to celebrate both Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. I would hope that you find some way to celebrate the father of your child even if it is just for the child’s sake.

To the mothers that just made a bad choice however it happened, you ended up with what you now call, “a sperm donor”; to you, I don’t understand. One night stand, another woman’s man, trying to make him your husband anyway you can, get a needle in your hand, put food in the pan, putting dollars on your stand. You didn’t yell, “dead-beat dad “ or “sperm donor” on the night/day of conception, but today you want to make a public exception, present you child with a false perception, to promote your exhilaration, paternal  emasculation, perpetuation over generations, offspring brain incarceration, feminist ideology fertilization, gender discrimination, forced assimilation, family deprivation. You have 364 days for the signification of your hallucinations, but today is for “Fathers” celebration!

Sleepwalking

Trapped in a nightmare that appears to be real
Awaken from the delusion of The New Deal
Conscious rhetoric falls off my lips
Unaware that I’m the Zombie in the civil apocalypse

Riding on that bus to reform the NRA
Guns and control I’m prompted to say
Lynching without rope, branch, or tree
Uniformed killers riding free

Hebrew ancestors, the identity I claim
Messianic, Orthodoxism, tribal distain
Plato, Aristotle, Socrates, Greek philosophy
Yet, Tuthmosis III, Manetho, Iknaton mean nothing to me

Going to the polls to vote for education
Economic robbery, governmental retardation
Third grade decision, High School attritions
Judges, court rooms, judicial ammunition

Political puppet, no need for strings
Hypnotic melodies the church choir sings
European theology my preacher talking
All in this nightmare, I’m still sleepwalking

Trumpisim

When Republican Evangelicals become so disillusioned with the fact that they have become the minority in America, they abandon morality for a conjured eschatology. It is called “Trumpisim”

Truth in a Year of Jubilee

“If a nation keeps telling itself lies, it will eventually elect a liar-in-chief.” (Rev. Dr. R. Warnock) Said from a theological perspective, truth confronts a lie until the light of the truth cancels out the darkness of the lie, but when viewed from the vantage point of a New World Order, a lie is transliterated to become “alternate truth” alternate truth evolves into perceived truth and perceived truth unchallenged delivers an untimely eulogy of truth to the deceived. ~Moffett~

Still Bill/Steel Bill

Like Niagara Falls on a windy day, my emotions are falling
Like a dropping roller castor, his legacy my memory recalling
Alexander Scott, Fat Albert, Dr. Huxtable, to Little Bill,
A legacy of hope, legend profound, is My! reality still

Predator, manipulator, fornicator, cognitive dissonance plaguing me
Role model, author, actor, activist, athlete, veteran is the man I see
From Hollywood Star to the cold steel bar, my comprehension haywire
In the mirror of reflection, the neighborhood selection or predatory vampire

Race assassination, dehumanization, denounce-my-nation, hope elimination
Rationalize, decimalize, tears in my eyes, displaced admiration
Covert comedians spitting poison darts, heart annihilated
Systematic tactic, implosion reacted, economic satisfaction, diaspora eradicated

NIGGER I Am

Non-violent Intellectual Granting Graceful Executed Resistance
Nubian Icon God Gave Exhorting Rhetoric
Noble Identity Genesis Genetics Engendered Repopulation
Navigator Inventing Global Gestation Ethnic Resolve
Niger, Ivory-Coast, Ghana, Guinea, Egypt, Rwanda

No one asked me if I wanted to come
Instead, you kidnapped me and murdered some
Graves for the weak the sea became
God granted life to those that remained
Enslave my body, but not my soul
Reclaiming the identity that slavery stole

Election

Why should my eyes wail with rivers of tears
While people like me fill the air with cheers
Celebrating a President that looks like me
A feeling that my people are finally free

Could it be that Dr. King’s Dream was really true
Equality and justice for Black people too
Through Non-violence and Black Power, the White House we gain
Yet, floods of hatred, bigotry, and prejudice still rain

Iron chains to prison cells, it’s all the same
Constructional freedom, yet enslaved the brain
Chattel, Contraband, Collateral, contained
Brainwashed identity, Conscience proclaimed

A country divided, birth certificate in hand
Glimmers of Dr. King’s Promised Land
“Your people have made it” un-melanin distain

Is it just slavery by another name                                          ~Moffett~ 3 Jan 2018

Margret’s Best

Did not the Father sacrifice His Son
That the life of many be saved by One
Can not a mother in love proclaim
The freedom of her children all the same

Tenacity, perseverance, a destiny to keep
Chased like an animal, backs were beat
The road to freedom, was it self-defeat
Could Heaven and peace be the prize to keep

A cross, a knife, cold water you say
Is to great a price for freedom to pay
One for His sheep, wondered astray
The other’s, a mother’s bird's, Emancipation Day
